Growth at All Costs

Updated: May 21, 2021

Many nations did not need brutal, authoritative governments to neutralize warmth and enthusiasm...

Capitalism has managed this entirely.

Instead of reflecting on the divine or sacred, instead of worshipping deities, people now worship the logical consequence to an unfeeling system, that is:

the coercive force to obtain some commodity produced by tired, exploited strangers.

Capitalism’s prestige, its unrelenting methodical levels of expectation have, for many, driven out any imagination to life’s awe and wonder. Invariably, our sense of compassion, empathy, community, and spirituality have been replaced by pseudo-emotion and perishable novelties.
